The intent of the project was to provide redundant distribution to the branch circuit outlet for each piece of equipment in the Data Processing Center. Additional goals for the project included establishing equipment rack rows into hot aisle/cold aisle arrangements with hot aisle containment systems, migrating power and communications from below the floor to overhead, and eliminating the need for existing busway, switchboards and panel board equipment that is aged and represented a reliability concern.
