Detroit Medical Center Children's Hospital of Michigan Ronald McDonald House IT /AV / Security System Design Project Complete

Peter Basso Associates recently provided electrical design services for IT / AV / Security System design for the Ronald McDonald House for the Detroit Medical Center's Children's Hospital of Michigan.

The renovation included the second floor of the former Hutzel Building in the heart of the Detroit Medical Center, which includes 24 guest rooms and one manager's apartment plus additional support spaces and a new elevator.

Engineering design services included:

1. Telecommunications infrastructure; including Voice (IP Telephony) and Data Network.

2. Intercom/PA system layout and design.

3. Cable TV system coordination with service provider.

4. Security system video surveillance layout and design.

5. Security system access control including access controls at doors

The Design / Bid / Build project was completed this spring. 

The IT upgrades are one of several renovations underway at the newly revamped DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan which will include a large portion of the old Hutzel Building being converted into a Ronald McDonald House.
