PBA provided LEED Commissioning Services

PBA provided Cx Services for the new LEED Silver certified La-Z-Boy World Headquarters facility in Monroe, MI.

The scope of commissioning encompassed all of the building's mechanical systems and select electrical systems, including HVAC systems, heating systems, refrigeration systems, temperature control systems, exhaust systems, domestic hot water systems, electrical components serving the mechanical systems, and lighting controls.  As its CxA, PBA was tasked with:

  • Ensuring that applicable equipment and systems were installed properly and that they received adequate operational checkout by installing contractors.
  • Verifying and documenting proper performance of equipment and systems.
  • Ensuring that O&M documentation left on site was complete.
  • Ensuring that the Owner’s operating personnel were adequately trained.

Prior to construction, the commissioning team for the new headquarters successfully identified many items that needed to be corrected.  Making both the Cx of the new headquarters and the LEED Silver certified project a success!

The three-story, 200,000 sf facility features a geothermal loop system as well as efficient lighting and HVAC systems, providing maximum comfort to employees and visitors.
