Peter Basso Associates recently provided mechanical and electrical engineering design services for Saginaw Valley State University's Implementation of Energy Conservation Measures (ECM) project.
As electrical and mechanical design engineers on the project, PBA provided campus-wide design services that included campus cooling tower optimization - adding VSD's on campus cooling towers and resetting condenser supply temperatures to chillers as well as providing services for campus elevator occupancy control of fans and lighting.
In addition, PBA provided select services to the following campus facilities: Arbury Fine Arts & Brown Hall; Doan Center, Living Center North & South; Regional Education, Ryder Center, Science East & West; Wickes Hall, West Complex & Zahnow Library.
Select services included providing DDC’s, installing hot water control valves to unit heaters; converting constant hot water heating systems to variable flow hot water heating systems; replacing high flow wash nozzles with low flow nozzles; replacing constant speed chiller pumps with variable speed pumps; replacing dampers with low leak dampers and outside air flow monitors; replacing high flow urinals with pint flow urinals; installed Air-Cuity Monitoring and Control System in laboratory classrooms, in addition to several other campus-wide ECM implemented projects.
