The 31,000 sf Fine Arts facility on the campus of Saint Clair Community College (SC4) was originally completed in 1976. Therefore, the existing mechanical and electrical systems had reached the end of their useful life and were in need of replacement. As part of a two-phased performance contract with Siemens Building Technologies, PBA provided basic mechanical and electrical design engineering services for the replacement of the SC4 Fine Arts Building’s select HVAC systems, including its existing constant volume, gas-fired, Dx cooling multi-zone HVAC equipment, with new energy efficient systems.
In addition, Peter Basso Associates provided electrical engineering design services to replace existing lighting design systems including fluorescent lighting fixtures in the classrooms, offices and corridors, to accommodate HVAC system upgrades.
