M/E Design for New Corporate Headquarters | Detroit, Michigan

Compuware Corporation Headquarters includes office space for approximately 3,000 employees and a data center to support Compuware’s operations. Other spaces include a child care center, cafeteria, fitness center, auditorium for conducting press conferences and 60,000 square feet of retail space at street level.

As a technology company, Compuware required a flexible office environment with the ability to easily make changes to the arrangement of workstations, and the wiring at workstations as technology changes. Compuware also desired an HVAC system with individual occupant control to provide a comfortable indoor environment to enhance employee productivity.

These goals were achieved by designing an HVAC and electrical system with a raised access flooring system to provide Compuware with ultimate flexibility as well as environmental control by each individual occupant. All power and data wiring to Compuware’s workstations is routed under the raised access floor. Changes to wiring and/or to the workstation layout can be made simply and quickly through the access floor tiles.
