The Detroit Foundation Hotel, with architectural lighting design provided by Illuminart, was recently named by TIME magazine as one of 2018's, 'World's Greatest Places to Stay.'Detroit Curbed recently published an article about TIME's designation, touting DFH as... 'one of the most spectacular renovations in downtown Detroit in recent years,' noting that, 'the redesign incorporates original details—tiling, marble, flooring—with salvaged wood, modern light fixtures, and Detroit art.' (Curbed Detroit, 2018)
In 2017, the DFH was highlighted as the ‘2017 Best Upscale Hotel in the 37th Annual Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design,’ a program that is touted as the ‘industry’s oldest and most prestigious awards program’ sponsored by Boutique Design magazine. (2017 Gold Key Finalist…, Boutique Design, 2017) In addition to nearly a dozen awards and accolades for the hotelDFH was also recognized by Condé Nast Traveler magazine editors as one of 2018's, 'Best New Hotels in the World.' In addition, the DFH has been recognized with nearly a dozen awards of excellence in both design and hospitality.
