Article Looks at MEP Design Challenges

The current issue of Consulting Specifying Engineer magazine features not only its annual "40 Under 40" winners, but also a detailed roundtable discussion on the challenges engineers face when design engineering stand-alone medical facilities and specialized treatment facilities.

PBA vice president, Bryan Laginess, PE, LEED AP, was interviewed for the feature and in the article, he discusses the importance of first considering ownership of the building - independent developer vs. a health care system, when design engineering systems for a stand-alone facility. Laginess also discusses at length, the importance of adhering to code requirements specifically mentioning the International Code Council (ICC), ASHRAE and AIA guidelines.

Laginess often serves as a lead mechanical engineer, or project manager for projects within PBA's Health Care and Laboratory design group. This year Laginess celebrates 16 years' with PBA.
