Peter Basso Associates provided MEP engineering and lighting design services for construction of the new LEED Gold certified Residential Apartment Building on the campus of Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan.
The 196-bed facility new graduate student apartment building includes public lounges, a fitness center, laundry facilities, and meeting spaces. Design included new primary service from the campus loop, new secondary service design, lighting, power, generator/back-up power systems, and communications systems design for public spaces and apartments. ]
The project also features an underground 80 PSIG saturated steam service that connects to a pressure reducing valve station to provide 15 PSIG saturated steam for the building’s heating system.
